CABARET RAT is solo artist Matt Prosac, hailing originally from the North-West of the Uk, and now to be found close to the city of Oxford.
He founded his one-man 'Industrial-Pop' band in early 2004, following several musical ventures. His idea to go solo came from a desire to do something different and to stick with a musical style that he had always believed in - a combination of Industrial big beats, melodic pop, psychobilly, and the imagery of American pop-culture. His lyrics walk the line between honesty and controversy, often covering the messy side of relationships, as well as mocking the 'disposable' culture that is now almost a symbol of western society.
Cabaret Rat has performed live all over the country, generating fans not only in England and the UK, but also, via networking sites, America, Canada and Europe. Reviews have been often brimming with praise, with that oft-overused word 'genius' being banded about. Even the negative comments have been so filled with bile and venom that Matt Prosac has concluded he must be doing something right.
CABARET RAT - the sweet sound of tooth and claw.
